Our Music in the Garden event brought together some or our outstanding current music scholars with alumnae, parents and staff who are all renowned musicians in their own right.
To celebrate music past, present and future at South Hampstead and to promote our Waterlow Hall project, Dr Steve Collisson put together an outstanding programme of Brahms, Elgar and Mendelssohn all played within the beautiful setting of Sir Clifford Curzon’s original music room at Millfield Place.
At the end of the Concert, Vicky Bingham paid tribute to the musicians and shared the plans for the new Waterlow Hall and the future of the school with those present.
‘An event like this one makes you conscious of what has gone before. In 2026, the school will celebrate 150 years since it was founded and everything about this event sings to that history. South Hampstead is a huge family and today, joined as we are by former Heads, governors, staff, alumnae and our brilliant pupils, it has been a truely family occasion.’
The sun chose to shine on this exceptional event which came about thanks to vision of the Chair of Governors Helen Strange and the generosity of the Whitmore Family.
